Fit Testing

Due to issues related to SARS and other communicable disease outbreaks, in 2004 Alberta Health Services implemented a policy requiring that all individuals “working in an area or assignment where there is a potential exposure to SARS or other airborne communicable diseases be fit-tested with an N95 respirator.”

This policy has been adopted province-wide.

The Health Sciences Council schedules fit testing blitzes in September and April of each year.

Each faculty will send out information to the students which lists the date/time of their fit test and additional instructions.

The student cost for the fit test is $30.00. If any student misses their appointment, they will need to arrange for their fit test with a private company at their own expense.
